How to Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards Points to Hyatt (Step by Step Guide)
One of the easiest ways we’ve made family travel more affordable is by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt.
Instead of paying cash for hotels in New York City and Paris, we transferred points from our Chase Sapphire card to Hyatt and booked hotels that would have otherwise cost hundreds of dollars per night.
If you’re new to travel rewards, this is one of the best places to start because the process is simple, transfers are usually instant, and Hyatt often offers excellent value compared to paying cash.

Why We Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt
We’ve found Hyatt to be one of the best uses of Chase Ultimate Rewards points because it lets us stay in great locations without paying peak-season hotel prices.
For example, we used Hyatt points for:
- Hotel 50 Bowery in New York City
- Our Paris hotel during our family trip to France
Covering the hotel with points meant we could spend more of our travel budget on Broadway, cafés, museums, and experiences instead.
We always compare the cash price first before deciding whether to use points.

When you transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt, you get great value and it allows you to book some really nice hotel rooms at a low points price compared to the dollar amount. Hyatt offers a wide range of properties and brands, depending on your taste and how you want to spend your points. Here are a few of the most popular:
- All-inclusive hotels in Mexico and Hawaii
- Hyatt House properties
- Boutique hotels through the Mr & Mrs Smith Collection (my personal favorite way to spend points)

How to Transfer Chase Ultimate Reward Points to Hyatt to Book:
Step 1: Log In to Your World of Hyatt Account (or create a free account if you don’t have one)
Step 2: Search available options for the dates and locations you’re looking for.
- Ensure you toggle the Use Points button to show World of Hyatt Points
Step 3: Review the available rooms and number of points required
- IMPORTANT: Mr & Mrs Smith properties (my favorite) often do not list the number of points on the main page. You need to click on the View Rates button to see how many points are required for booking.
Step 4: Log In to Your Chase Ultimate Rewards Account to Transfer to Hyatt
- You can get here through logging into your card at this link or logging in to your Chase account and then clicking on the Benfits & Travel tab at the top and then clicking Travel.
- Click on the area that shows you how many points you have
- Select the 3 dots and the drop down
- Under Travel, choose Transfer Points to Partners
- You’ll see the list of all the possible transfer partners, with World of Hyatt at the bottom
- Choose the number of points to transfer. You need to round up to the nearest 1,000. IMPORTANT: You cannot reverse it, so make sure you have enough points before you transfer!
Step 5: Finally, log back In to Your World of Hyatt Account and Book!
- The transfer is almost instanteous.
Is Transferring Chase Points to Hyatt Worth It?
By covering the hotel cost with points, we have more room in our budget for restaurants, museums, Broadway shows, and unique experiences.
For our family, it is absolutely worth it.
Hotels are often one of the biggest travel expenses, especially during school breaks.

As always, make sure it’s the right fit for your own situation, and only if you pay your balance in full every month.
